A quick bite-
Just finished up A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands. It’s the first book of the Argeneau series. It was “okay” to me, a book that I’m indifferent about and will never pick up for a second read. Based on the first book, I think the series has potential but there were a few things that put me off on wanting to continue reading the following books.
Greg and Lissianna are a bit boring and they certainly don’t make wise choices. Now I know, I know, fictional characters don’t always have to make good choices and sometimes stupid mistakes make the story fantastic but not in this case. They seem very immature and act like teenagers. Greg is 35 and Lissianna 202 so I’m not sure why the terrible decisions. Lissianna completely overreacts to her uncles appearance and takes off with Greg like a dramatic preteen runaway. Then a life threatening injury and Greg acts like it’s no big deal and he can just drag Lissianna all over town while she’s unconscious and bleeding.🤷♀️
My other issue is that we really don’t need the bad guy to spend forever explaining things he did when it’s obvious. I feel like it was mainly filler words that should have just been edited out.
All that being said, I like to keep in mind that this is the first book of the series its a learning curve for the author at this point. Hopefully it will pick up interest in the second book!
That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau’s bed? He’s not dessert—he’s the main course!
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there’s another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn’t hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?
Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger’s bedroom pretty quickly—once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That’s a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.
