The Flame and The Arrow is the first book in the Annika Brisby series by Emigh Cannaday. This story was really fun and interesting. At times I wanted to reach into the book and smack the characters for being so petty but that’s part of what makes a book good, isn’t it? A good book will make me feel emotion whether it’s sad, happy, or sometimes even angry. The characters are developed well and the story moves smoothly, there don’t seem to be any points where it seems likes it’s dragging along. Can’t wait to pick up the next book in the series!
Annika Brisby, has just broken up with her boyfriend after he proposes to her and tells her her childish dreams of being a musician needs to end. Wary of the strong pull she feels toward him, she runs away from him and back to her uncles, thinking to never see him again.
A few weeks later, Annika is on a hike in the mountains where she finds herself lost. “Don’t do it, Annika,” he taunted. His eyes were no longer bright and charming but dark and intense, yet they still twinkled. He was tempting, but was he harmful?
