I really enjoyed V and Claire’s story. Claire is so happy and doesn’t let life get her down. V has had a rough life and is just surviving through his life rather than living it, until he gets to know Claire. She breathes joy into his life and soothes the ache in his heart. They are the perfect cutesy-type of couple that gives you a sweet tooth, but don’t start thinking there aren’t any steamy scenes in their story, there’s definitely some sexy action going on.

I like how the storyline is set up for the next book, and I’ll be excited to see more of Rhi, Con, and Balladyn. However, I hate how it feels like V and Claire’s story is incomplete, it’s a major cliffhanger of an ending. It’s great in that it creates excitement for the next book but how long will we have to wait to see the rest of their story? I have a lot of questions about them and I don’t want to have to wait forever to get the answers.

There’s not a lot of world-building or descriptive details, but I think the storyline makes up for the lack. In a way I think it works out better, because it allows the reader to be creative with their imagination of how things look in their own minds by being given just a basis from the author’s descriptions. Also, keep in mind that this is the 15th book in this series, so most readers already know what details to expect for Draegan, but it would still be great to get a detailed description of what the author wants us to imagine.

Do I recommend this book? Absolutely. It’s a great read and the plot is interesting. Even though I despise cliffhangers, I think the Dragon Kings series is a great series and I look forward to the next book.

Book Blurb:

For centuries, V has waited to awaken from his doomed sleep and reclaim his destiny. But this Dragon King—one among a legion of legendary warriors sworn to protect the human race from darkness—must first find a way to win back his sword. Wield its power. And try not to fall prey to his own illicit desires.

Claire may possess the beauty and soul of a goddess but V knows better than to mess with a mere mortal. Still, he instinctively knows that Claire is The One who can help him regain the use of his sword and restore his place at Dreagan. But if she learns the truth about who—and what—he really is, her memories of him would be erased forever. How can V love Claire truly, madly, deeply…and protect her from the forces of fire and darkness that could destroy them both?
