The Savior

Title: The Savior

Series: Black Dagger Brotherhood

Author: J.R. Ward

Genre: Fantasy & Romance

Release Date: April 2, 2019

Well BDB fans, the series has finally gotten good again! I was so disappointed in the last book, because I loved the potential for Assail and Sola’s story and was ultimately letdown and feeling kinda meh about their story. Now Murhder is back in the scene and Ward has made the series interesting again!

It is so satisfying to finally understand everything regarding Murhder’s history with the BDB gang that we’ve only received hints at so far. Talk about a brother with a past! I love Sarah’s character, too. She’s the perfect mix between laid-back and nerdy but spunky and protective too.

Aside from Murhder’s return to the fold, there’s some interesting side plot going on with John Mathew and Xhex, which entwined nicely with what’s going on with Murhder and Sarah. It was completely relevant to the main story, and shows how connected their paths are.

The other main thing that made this book so interesting? We have a new enemy, folks! With the war on the Lessening society dwindling, the past few books were a bit boring and fell flat for many BDB fans. Now a new(maybe?) evil is revealed and the series plot perks up with the addition. I’m loving the possibilities opened up for the series, and I find myself getting excited again for a new BDB book!
