Book Blurb:

Jane Yellowrock must dig deep and find strength within herself if she is to survive in the latest novel in this New York Times bestselling series.

Jane Yellowrock is vampire-killer-for-hire, but her last battle with an ancient arcane enemy has brought her low. She seeks retreat in the Appalachian Mountains to grieve the loss of her friends, and to heal—or to die—from the disease brought on by her magic.

But malevolent elements in the paranormal community still seek to destroy Jane, and a terrifying foe stalks her, even into the safety of the hills. With nowhere to run and her body failing, the rogue-vampire hunter and her inner Beast must discover a way to defeat this new threat, and find a form that gives her a chance to fight another day.

Review:

I’m not gonna lie, Shattered Bonds has been one of my most highly anticipated new releases of the year and I think it was well worth the wait. Some unexpected things happen since the last book ended on a huge cliffhanger. This is one of those books where SO much happens, it’s hard to explain a review without spoilers. So with that in mind, I’ll just say that the Yellowrock clan is definitely going through the motions and a lot of emotional things but they pulled their heads together and work to defeat this newest enemy.

It seems that Shattered Bonds is the closing of one phase of Jane’s life, and a whole new world of opportunities has opened up. I’m sad to see some characters go, but we have new additions and so many possible storylines that it’s a good trade-off.  I think Faith Hunter made a great choice in ending this chapter in the Yellowrock series to create hopefully many more. I’m looking forward to the next book!

  1. I’m with you on this — SO [EXPLETIVE DELETED] hard to write about without ruining.

(I agreed with everything else you said, too, but that I feel that difficulty weeks after I wrote about it)
