With This Man

The Lord is back!! I have been so excited for this book and now that it finally came, I couldn’t wait to read it! With This Man is the fourth book of the This Man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas. This book has all the feels, the hot scenes, and the Jesse Ward style trampling that readers love and expect from JEM! Totally a 5-star read.

Here’s the blurb for the book-

Life is good for Jesse “The Lord” Ward. Perfect, actually. He still has the charm, he’s in great shape, and he still reduces his wife, Ava, to a pool of desire with a mere look. He’s in full control, just how he likes it.

But Jesse’s perfect world falls apart when a terrible accident lands Ava in the hospital with a life-threatening head injury. Devastated and angry, he feels like his entire existence hangs in the balance. He cannot survive without this woman’s love. So when she finally comes around, his shaking world begins to level out. But his nightmare doesn’t end there. It’s only just begun. Because his wife can’t remember the last sixteen years of her life. That’s all of him. All of their time together. He is a stranger to her.

Now Jesse must do whatever it takes to find her memories . . . and help her fall madly, passionately in love with him all over again.

Jesse and Ava will always be one of my go-to books for re-reading. If you haven’t read This Man then pick it up and read it pronto! You will not be disappointed! Get the 4- book series on kindle here for $32- The This Man Series (4 Book Series)

Jesss Ward has an addiction to Sun-Pat peanut butter so I thought it would be cool to find a peanut butter recipe to try out. I decided to tweak the ideas floating around on the internet and make peanut butter stuffed chocolate cupcakes. Don’t judge me LOL!  So I took the lazy way since we’re moving soon and I’m low on baking supplies and used a box of chocolate cake mix. The stuffing is just peanut butter and powdered sugar mixed. The powdered sugar will help make it less sticky while making it sweeter too.

So here’s my make-shift recipe:

  1. 1 box chocolate cake mix
  2. 2 cups of creamy peanut butter
  3. 1 cup of powdered sugar
  4. Optional- powdered sugar for sprinkling on top

  1. Mix 2 cups peanut butter and 1 cup powdered sugar until well blended and set aside.
  2. Prepare Chocolate cake mix as shown on box.
  3. Using a cupcake/muffin pan, line with cupcake liners. Fill each with chocolate cake mix to about 1/4 full.
  4. Scoop one small spoonful of peanut butter mixture into each, making sure to keep it within the center.
  5. Cover peanut butter mixture with more chocolate cake mix, each should be 1/2 or 3/4 of the way full. You don’t want to fill them too much and them spillover during baking. Trust me, it gets messy!
  6. Bake cupcakes according to package on box or until well done. Oven times will vary due to different ovens, temps, etc.

I chose to sprinkle the tops of each cupcake with a little powdered sugar  instead of icing them BUT I bet a peanut butter icing would be amazing!

The Dark Ones

Finished up The Dark Ones by Rachel Van Dyken! I really enjoyed this storyline. It’s creative and unique without being completely outrageous. The character development is spot-on and I LOVE when an author can change my opinion about the bad guy. It really helps that all the males are hot alphas! There isn’t a single character in this book that I hated and that’s very rare. Rachel Van Dyken gives us a fun twist on immortal/human interactions. This is definitely a 5-star read for me!

Here’s a little description about the book-

To touch a Dark One is death.
To talk to an immortal is suicide.
Yet, I’ve been marked by both.
A Vampire.
And the King of the immortals.
My life is no longer my own.
And now I know the truth, my life was never mine to begin with.
It was theirs.
It’s always been theirs.

Did I mention the kindle edition is currently free?! The second and third book in the series are both $3.99 each and you can expect a review for both of those coming soon! Click here to get The Dark Ones on Kindle.

The Prophecy

If you haven’t heard of Jennifer Armentrout yet, you need to fix that asap! The Titan series is the 3rd series of hers that I have read and she has always delivered and exceeded all my expectations. Well thought out story plot, phenomenal characters, and truly unique creativity in ALL her books! Her newest book, The Prophecy, swept me off my feet. I cannot get enough of Seth & Josie and I love how their story has developed perfectly. You can get the 4 book series on Amazon kindle for just $20!

The Titan series is a spin-off from her earlier series, Covenant. So if you want to see some of the characters from the Covenant and how their lives are now, check this series out. I suggest reading Covenant before Titan if you haven’t already, so you don’t feel like your missing any information and can see easily the connections made.

Here’s the book description-

History is on repeat…

Seth never thought he’d have a future. Now he’s on the brink of having it all: A tomorrow. A family. All that’s standing in the way of that forever with Josie is the Titans.

A price must be paid…

For Josie, entombing the Titans is what she was born to do. But she also knows she’s not fighting just for herself — she’s fighting for the man she loves, for their future, for the world. Together, Josie and Seth will face the unthinkable. And to win this war, the ultimate sacrifice must be made.

For the end is here and the Prophecy will be fulfilled….

Sacrificed to the Dragon

So I just finished Sacrificed to the Dragon by Jessie Donovan. This is one of those books where it looks really interesting and starts off pretty good, and then about half way through your annoyed and debate on whether or not you want to finish reading it. However, I rarely ever quit a book, because you never know if it will pique your interest again. Plus, I always want to know the ending! I liked the storyline, girl has sick brother and sacrifices herself to save him. It’s a story line that’s pretty common but can be really good! Plus, dragons are always a fun read! Anyways, the author needs to find a little more creativity in my opinion to make this book better and more interesting. I can only read the same word/phrase so many times before I get bored. There aren’t many details offered in this book either which I always like to have something to help picture in my mind what the setting and characters look like. However, for a quick and free read, it got the job done! This is the first book in a series and offered for free on Amazon. I give it 3 stars because I did enjoy the characters and it wasn’t so bad that I stopped reading it.

Stuck-Up Suit

IMG_6196Hello all! The past few days have been super busy so I just finished a quick read of Stuck-Up Suit by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. First of all, this book was HOT! I love a book that I Just. Can’t. Put. Down. And this fits that description perfectly. I love the good banter, the steamy scenes, and the spicy attitude of Soraya Venedetta! If you’re interested in reading Soraya and Graham’s story, you can read for FREE with kindle unlimited or buy for $4.99. For a limited time it’s included with Prime Reading!

In Stuck-Up Suit, Graham tells Chloe that he loves Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes.  These sounded so good, I found a recipe to make some for the family! Super yummy. You can find the recipe here. Let me know what you think of Stuck-Up Suit in the comments!
